Why Can't I See Who Viewed My WhatsApp Status?
If your viewers list is empty, or shows only a number, it is usually a settings problem. Here is how to see your viewers and what to check.

How to see who viewed your status
- Open WhatsApp and go to the Status (or Updates) tab.
- Tap My status, then tap the status you posted.
- Swipe up, or tap the eye icon, to see the list of viewers.
The steps can look a little different on different phones and WhatsApp versions.
Reasons the list is empty or hidden
- Read receipts are off. Go to Settings, Privacy, and turn on Read receipts. If your read receipts are off, WhatsApp may not show who viewed your status. People who turned theirs off may also not show up.
- The status expired. A status disappears after 24 hours, and the viewers list goes with it.
- Nobody has watched yet. Give it a little time.
- You deleted the status. After deleting, you can not open its viewers.
- Your privacy settings. Only the people you allow can see your status. See why your status is not showing to all contacts.
- Old app or bad network. Update WhatsApp and check your connection.
You see a number but no names
This usually comes from read receipts. Turn them on, post a new status, and check again.
Does it count repeat views?
No. WhatsApp shows each person once, even if they watched your status many times.
Avoid apps that promise secret viewer lists
Some third-party apps claim to show extra viewer information. They can put your account at risk, and WhatsApp may restrict accounts that use them. Stay with the official app.
If your views are low
Views depend mostly on how many people have saved you. Read how many contacts you need for 1000 views and how to get more WhatsApp status views.
